Job summary

Portland General Electric is seeking a Manager of Operational Compliance to lead the NERC compliance group and ensure alignment with applicable laws and company policies. You will oversee the implementation of regulatory standards, advise business units, and drive risk-based controls across the organization.

The role requires extensive experience in compliance within the utilities sector, including familiarity with NERC/FERC regulations, and will involve coordinating cross-functional teams,

Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree in finance, business, science, IT or related field.
Eight or more years in compliance with utility operations, cybersecurity or auditing.
At least three years of FERC/NERC experience or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Contributes to overall compliance efforts and provides leadership across the operating unit.
Manages technical guidance on meeting compliance standards and commenting on proposed regulations.
Oversees budgeting, legal services, and vendor management within the department.
Oversees staffing, recruitment, evaluation, and career development within the team.
Provides coaching and performance reviews and ensures training aligns with compliance goals.
