Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Environmental Assistant Project Manager in Chicago to support project management, environmental permitting, and NEPA related work across the U.S. Market sectors include oil and gas, electric, and renewables.

The role reports to the Chicago Environmental Studies Department Manager and involves agency engagement, budget tracking, and delivering compliant environmental documents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• 7 years of applicable experience required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding work environment and overtime on short notice.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience in multiple market sectors; electric, renewable, oil & gas preferred.
• Knowledge of NEPA and environmental permitting is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Assist management of projects and oversight of environmental permitting.
• Prepare RFP packages, bid and scope documents for downstream contracts.
• Interface with agencies to obtain approvals and submit permit applications.
• Support NEPA project management including field surveys and agency engagement.
• Develop and maintain project budgets, reports and cash flow forecasts.
• Interact with clients to build relationships and expand services.
• Travel as required and help manage project risk with Legal Department as needed.
