Job summary

Wheeling Hospital, Inc. seeks a Transport Respiratory Therapist to support neonatal and pediatric transport. The role includes stabilizing patients during transfer, coordinating with receiving physicians, and administering respiratory care as ordered.

Candidates must hold WV LRTR licensure with NRP, STABLE, ACLS, and PALS certifications or within the required timeframe, plus 2 years of NICU/transport experience. BLS due within 30 days of hire and full-time hours are typical.

Qualifications

• Licensed Respiratory Therapist in WV (LRTR) per WV Board.
• NRP, STABLE, ACLS, and PALS certifications or obtainable within specified timelines.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in neonatal/pediatric ICU or transport setting.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates respiratory expertise for patients with complex, rapidly changing needs.
• Provides assessment, anticipates problems, initiates interventions, and documents actions.
• Coordinates and collaborates with other healthcare providers during transport.
• Stabilizes acutely ill neonatal and pediatric patients and consults with accepting physicians.
• Administers medications per WVUH policies and procedures.
• Maintains clear radio and phone communications with the transport team and receiving facility.
• Performs required follow-up and ensures equipment maintenance and restocking.
