Job summary

Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville, FL is hiring a Registered Respiratory Therapist for the Critical Care Transport Team on a full-time evening shift. The role involves caring for critical pediatric patients during inter-facility transport and supporting NICU/PICU units.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of critical care experience, PICU/NICU exposure, and an active RRT license with ACLS/BLS/PALS/NRP certifications. A sign-on bonus up to $15,000 is offered.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; BS preferred.
• ACLS, BLS, PALS and NRP certifications required.
• RRT license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic life support (BLS), advanced life support (ALS) and critical care support.
• Carry out orders from physicians or Medical Director.
• Perform patient assessments, provide treatment, and monitor patients during inter-facility transport.
• Communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
• Provide patient care including emergency procedures such as CPR, endotracheal intubation, needle chest aspiration, and umbilical access for emergency meds.
• Support hospital critical care units when not transporting patients.

Associate of Science in Respiratory Therapy

Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy (Preferred)

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Required

Basic Life Support (BLS) Required

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Required

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification Required

Licensed Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Required
