Job summary

WVU Medicine in Wheeling, WV seeks an experienced Respiratory Therapist for neonatal/pediatric transport. You will provide advanced respiratory care, stabilize patients during transport, and collaborate with the transport team to ensure safe, timely transfers.

The role requires NICU/PICU or transport experience and multiple critical-care certifications. You will work 8-hour shifts in a high-stakes environment with strict infection control and documentation expectations.

Qualifications

• Active licensure as Respiratory Therapist in the applicable state.
• NRP Certification or obtain within 6 months of hire.
• STABLE Certification or obtain within six months of hire.
• ACLS Certification or obtain within two years of hire.
• PALS Certification or obtain within two years of hire.
• BLS Certification within 30 days of hire.
• Two years of neonatal/pediatric ICU or transport experience.
• NPS/CNPT or PFCCS within two years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates respiratory expertise for patients with complex and rapidly changing needs.
• Provides assessment, anticipates problems, takes action, and documents care.
• Stabilizes acutely ill neonatal/pediatric patients during transfer.
• Administers medications per WVUH policies.
• Maintains equipment and ensures transport readiness and cleaning.
• Coordinates with health care providers and communicates with receiving physicians.
• Completes transport documentation and follows up within 72 hours.
