Job summary

Stony Brook University’s Department of Pediatrics seeks a board-certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to deliver direct patient care in a Level 3b NICU, newborn nursery, and delivery room, in collaboration with an Attending Neonatologist.

The role includes contributing to annual NNP protocol reviews and teaching residents and NP students in resuscitation and NICU stabilization (NRP). Start date as soon as possible; non-tenure track, exempt position.

Qualifications

• Must hold New York State licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Master's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Nursing.
• Completion of a course for a Nurse Practitioner and certification as a Neonatal Practice Nurse.
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience working in Pediatrics.
• Five or more years of clinical experience working in Pediatrics is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to patients in a Level 3b NICU and network affiliate newborn nursery and delivery room in collaboration with an Attending Neonatologist.
• Assist in annual review of NNP protocols.
• Instruct residents and NP students in DR resuscitation and NICU stabilization skills (NRP).
