Job summary

Stony Brook University’s Department of Pediatrics at Stony Brook Children's Hospital seeks a Clinical Instructor/Nurse Practitioner for the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine. This full-time, non-tenure track faculty role involves independent practice in the Pediatric ED with physician collaboration and responsibilities in education and care coordination.

The selected candidate will provide patient- and family-centered care, support staff education, and contribute to population health

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing or NP program completed or foreign equivalent.
• NYS NP license or eligibility and certification as Pediatric or Family NP.
• At least one year of clinical pediatrics experience required.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to carry out assignments independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to pediatric ED patients in collaboration with an Attending Physician.
• Educate staff nurses and communicate clearly with patients and families.
• Coordinate follow-up visits, consultations, and diagnostic studies as needed.
• Maintain liaison with physicians and administration to ensure efficient patient care.
