Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an Neonatal Nutrition support role focused on safe preparation and labeling of human milk and formulas in a hospital setting. You will verify orders with dietitians, manage supplies, and ensure aseptic handling in the nutrition room.

Responsibilities include patient identification, labeling, and accurate preparation for neonatal units, with emphasis on safety, documentation, and teamwork within the department.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Infant Feeding Technician or Breastmilk/Infant Formula Technician Certificate preferred.
• Analytical skills to resolve problems using basic scientific, mathematical or technical principles.
• Dietetic Technician, Registered preferred.
• Associate degree in applied science with 6–12 months of clinical experience preferred.
• 1 year experience working in medical field, pediatric population preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages receiving and labeling of mother’s human milk and donor milk.
• Performs patient identification and bar code scanning for human milk containers.
• Prepares individualized human milk feeding one patient at a time with safety at the forefront.
• Prepares infant formulas/human milk per recipes; follows labeling, storage, and delivery procedures.
• Uses advanced math to calculate additives and fortifiers.
• Verifies orders with registered dietitian or ordering provider.
• Stocks nutrition room with needed supplies.
• Follows PPE and hand hygiene policies; maintains clean environment.
• Disposes unused/expired feedings per protocol.
