Job summary

The Tampa General Hospital Milk Lab Technician role focuses on the preparation, inventory, distribution, and management of Human Milk, Donor Human Milk, and formula for neonates and pediatric patients.

Responsibilities include maintaining HM and DHM inventories, ensuring accurate weights and measures, following infection control practices, and communicating effectively with the health care team to support nutrition therapy across units.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Associate's Degree in Food & Nutrition, Dietetics, or relevant field.
• Bachelor's Degree in Food & Nutrition, Dietetics, or relevant field.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Registered Dietetic Technician (DTR) must be held or obtained shortly after hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, inventory, distribute, and manage Human Milk, Donor Human Milk, and facility formulas for neonatal and pediatric patients.
• Oversee inventory and distribution of ready-to-feed enteral formulas for pediatrics.
• Apply infection control principles and accurate weights and measures calculations.
• Communicate effectively with the health care team to support nutrition therapy.
