Qualifications

• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred but not required.
• Interest in pets and a willingness to learn about animals, products, and services.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.
• Ability to complete tasks accurately, follow procedures, and respond positively to coaching.
• Dependable with reliable transportation.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, kneel, reach, and climb ladders or step stools.
• Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull merchandise weighing 40-65 pounds.
• Ability to safely operate required store equipment after completing appropriate training.

Responsibilities

• Greet neighbors and provide friendly, knowledgeable assistance with products and services.
• Learn about pets, products, promotions, and company programs to offer accurate recommendations.
• Process purchases, returns, and other register transactions with accuracy and share loyalty information.
• Complete daily stocking, store recovery, merchandising, price changes, and cleaning.
• Safely unload and process deliveries following training.
• Assist neighbors by carrying purchases to their vehicles when needed.
• Provide proper care for pets in the store, including habitats and feeding.
• Answer routine animal care questions and seek leadership help when needed.
• Follow cleanliness, animal care, safety, cash handling, and store standards.
• Support coworkers and assist in other areas as needed.
