Job summary

Charles River Laboratories seeks an experienced Technician I – Necropsy for the 2nd Shift Pathology Services Team in Mattawan, MI. This training role develops skills in handling animals, sedation, dissection, and data collection while performing duties under supervision.

Salary is $20/hr with a 10% shift differential. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM–8:30 PM, with weekends/holidays rotation and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; BA/BS in biological sciences preferred.
• No prior experience required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure humane care and welfare for all animals with gentle interactions.
• Train in onboarding skills including handling, sedation, dissection and sample collection.
• Collect, document, review and verify data in forms or electronic systems.
• Review QC documentation and maintain instrumentation.
• Learn anatomical terms and prepare materials for the department.
• Work other related duties as assigned.
