Job summary

Charles River is seeking an experienced Technician 1 - Histology for the 2nd Shift Pathology Services Team in Mattawan, MI. The role trains in tissue handling, embedding, microtomy, staining, and related duties under supervision to gain proficiency.

Shift: Mon-Fri, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM, pay $20/hour with location-based variation. Responsibilities include tissue processing, equipment prep, quality data handling, and shipping of tissues.

Qualifications

• Education: HS diploma/GED required; BA/BS in biology preferred.
• No prior experience required for this training role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Perform tissue processing and packaging and preservation tasks.
• Prepare testing equipment and assist with preventative maintenance.
• Embed tissue in paraffin and conduct post-processing decontamination.
• Receive, track, and prepare samples for pathologist review.
• Maintain data and documentation for traceability and quality control.
