Job summary

Charles River Laboratories is seeking a Technician I for the 2nd Shift Clinical Pathology team in Mattawan, MI. The role trains in onboarding skills, processes, and teamwork to support studies, including sample management, labeling, processing and slide preparation under supervision.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED (BA/BS preferred). No prior experience is required; strong English communication and safety awareness are essential.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required; BA/BS in biological sciences preferred.
• Experience: No prior experience required.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Performs technical tasks in in vivo studies or related support services.
• Prepare, collect and record research data and specimens per regulations and SOPs.
• Maintain good animal welfare and humane care.
• Train in onboarding skills including sample management, labeling, processing and slide preparation.
• Review data for accuracy and integrity; use instrumentation and equipment.
