Job summary

Professional Recruiting Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager for NCDOT heavy civil work in Greensboro, NC.

You will lead NCDOT roadway, bridge and utility projects from preconstruction through closeout, overseeing a self-perform team and reporting to senior leadership. Ideal candidates have 5+ years as PM of record on heavy civil projects for a contractor, NC DOT experience, and a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.

Qualifications

• NCDOT project experience as PM of record required.
• Contractor side experience; not suitable for designer/inspector roles.
• Strong cost control, scheduling, and field-team management.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• OSHA 30 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Run NCDOT roadway, bridge and utility projects as PM of record from preconstruction through closeout.
• Own budget, schedule, cost reports, forecasting and margins on every job.
• Submit accurate cost and income projections and act on variances early.
• Lead superintendents, field engineers and subcontractors to hit production, quality and safety.
• Serve as main contact for NCDOT, owners, engineers, inspectors and vendors.
• Issue subcontracts and purchase orders and manage subcontractor performance.
• Handle change orders, pay estimates, submittals, claims and contract documentation.
• Run weekly project meetings on schedule and cost, and report performance to leadership.
• Work with estimating on bids and the handoff so the job starts right.
• Keep a strong safety culture on every site.
