Professional Recruiting Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager for NCDOT heavy civil work in Charlotte, NC and central North Carolina.

You will oversee roadway, bridge, and utility projects from preconstruction through closeout, leading field teams and coordinating with NCDOT and vendors. The ideal candidate has 5+ years as PM of record on heavy civil projects with documented NCDOT experience, and a background in contractor-side delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as PM of record on heavy civil, highway, bridge or utility projects.
• NCDOT project experience as PM is required; be ready to name the jobs.
• PM must run projects end-to-end; not a step-up for APM/PM Engineer.
• Contractor-side experience only; consultants/inspections backgrounds not suitable.
• Strong cost control, scheduling, change orders and field-team management.
• Vista and HCSS HeavyJob experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent field experience.
• OSHA 30 is a plus.
• Charlotte area candidates preferred or relocation welcome.

Responsibilities

• Run NCDOT roadway, bridge and utility projects as PM of record, from preconstruction through closeout.
• Own budget, schedule, cost reports, forecasting and margins on every job you run.
• Submit accurate cost and income projections and act on variances early.
• Lead superintendents, field engineers and subcontractors to hit production, quality and safety.
• Serve as main contact for NCDOT, owners, engineers, inspectors and vendors.
• Issue subcontracts and purchase orders and manage subcontractor performance.
• Handle change orders, pay estimates, submittals, claims and contract documentation.
• Run weekly project meetings on schedule and cost, and report performance to leadership.
• Work with estimating on bids and the handoff so the job starts right.
• Keep a strong safety culture on every site.
