Job summary

California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) seeks a Student-Athlete Academic Advisor to manage comprehensive academic advising and support for NCAA teams within the Bickerstaff Academic Center for Student Athletes. The role involves coordinating advising services, ensuring compliance with NCAA/CSULB rules, and supporting academic program assessments.

Ideal candidates will have strong data interpretation skills, knowledge of NCAA regulations, and a track record in student services.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from a 4-year college or university in Liberal Arts, Behavioral Sciences or Kinesiology.
• Two years of professional experience in student services or related area.
• A master's degree may be substituted for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate year-round academic advising and support services for specific NCAA teams.
• Interpret NCAA/CSULB rules and calculate progress towards degree requirements.
• Assist in planning, coordination and delivery of BEACHAMPION program.
• Assist the Directors of the BAC with administrative tasks.
• Maintain knowledge of NCAA, Big West rules and CSULB regulations affecting student-athletes.
