Job summary

California State University, Long Beach seeks an experienced Academic Adviser for the Bickerstaff Academic Center for Student Athletes. You will coordinate advising, support services, and compliance for NCAA teams, ensuring progress toward degrees while interpreting CSULB and NCAA rules.

The role emphasizes data collection and analysis, collaboration with faculty and administrators, and supporting student-athlete success in a dynamic campus environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher required; master's may substitute for one year of experience.
• Experience in academic advising or student services preferred.
• Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to inform decisions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate year-round academic advising and support for specific NCAA teams.
• Interpret NCAA/CSULB rules and regulations and advise on degree progress requirements.
• Assist in planning and delivering the BEACHAMPION program.
• Support BAC Directors with administrative tasks.
• Maintain compliance with NCAA, Big West, and CSULB rules for student-athletes.
