Job summary

California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) invites applications for a Student Services Professional II in the Bickerstaff Academic Center for Student Athletes. Under the general direction of the BAC Directors, you will manage academic advising and support services for specific NCAA teams and coordinate assessments of advising services.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from a 4-year college or university in Liberal Arts, Behavioral Sciences or Kinesiology.
• Two years of professional experience in one student services or related area required; master’s degree may substitute for one year.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the year-round academic advising and support services for specific NCAA teams.
• Interpret NCAA/CSULB rules and regulations and calculate progress toward degree, GE, and major requirements.
• Assist in planning, coordination and delivery of BEACHAMPION program.
• Assist Directors of the BAC with administrative tasks.
• Maintain knowledge of NCAA, Big West, Athletic Department and CSULB rules as they apply to student-athletes.
