Job summary

LMR Technical Group is seeking a Ship Checker in Norfolk, VA to support the SDAES division by reviewing work notifications, validating scope, and capturing detailed findings with sketches and photos for planners.

The role requires naval knowledge, ability to read drawings, and readiness for travel. A high school diploma or GED is required, with technical education or an associate degree preferred. Security clearance and passport are anticipated.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years of technical/vocational education or apprenticeship.
• Ability to read and interpret relevant drawings and references.
• Knowledge of Navy systems and ship layouts beneficial.
• Must have or be able to obtain a passport for travel and security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ship checks onboard Navy vessels to validate work notifications and determine repair scope.
• Identify interferences and special circumstances affecting planning and work item development.
• Document ship checks with detailed information and photographs on PDF forms for planners.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
