Q.E.D. Systems Inc. in San Diego seeks an Engineering Specialist 4 (Ship Checker) to support Navy work notifications and item development. The role involves on-board ship checks, documenting conditions, and delivering accurate information to planners.

Expect to review drawings, capture photos, and identify interferences while adhering to safety and security requirements. Travel up to 10% internationally, and you must have a valid US driver''s license and ability to obtain a security clearance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; two years of technical/vocational training or equivalent; associate’s degree preferred.
• Ability to read and validate work notifications and determine scope of work.
• Experience in documenting ship checks with photos and forms.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% overseas and obtain Passport/CAC/DBID as needed.
• Must have a current and valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ship checks onboard Navy vessels to validate work notifications and determine repair scope.
• Identify interferences and special circumstances impacting planning and work item development.
• Document ship checks with detailed information and photographs on approved forms for upload to NMD by Planners.
• Assist in developing Work Items/Specifications as expertise grows.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the West Coast Ship Check Supervisor.
