Job summary

Q.E.D. Systems, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Specialist 4 (Ship Checker) to conduct ship checks on Navy vessels, validate work notifications, and provide detailed documentation. The role supports planners and requires lifting 30 lbs, some travel, and proficiency with drawings and MS Office.

The position is based in San Diego, with potential for growth within the SDAES division. A U.S. citizenship and security access are required, including ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance.

Qualifications

• Must read drawings and validate work notifications.
• Experience documenting ship checks with photos and PDFs.
• Able to lift 30 lbs and travel overseas up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ship checks onboard Navy vessels using drawings and references.
• Identify interferences affecting planning and work items.
• Document findings with detailed notes and photos on ship check forms (PDF).
• Record information in PDFs for upload to the Planner/NAO system.
