Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking a Senior Marine Ship Fitter to support U.S. Navy ships with electromechanical and C5ISR system installations in Norfolk, Virginia.

You will fabricate, assemble, and install cabling and equipment on-board naval ships, working closely with customers and Serco teams to ensure safe, high-quality results. Ideal candidates have 8 years of ship fitting experience, knowledge of drawings, and the ability to obtain an Active Secret Clearance.

Qualifications

• 8 years of ship fitting experience or equivalent
• Ability to interpret specifications, drawings, blueprints and shop orders
• Experience training shop personnel on machinery, tools and test equipment
• Familiarity with NAVSEA concepts, practices, and procedures
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Active Secret Clearance

Responsibilities

• Interpret specifications, drawings, blueprints, shop job orders and process sheets
• Assign work to qualified personnel
• Train new shop personnel on machinery, tools and test equipment required for quality construction
• Work onboard U.S. Naval Ships and military installations and ensure safety and quality standards
