Job summary

Planet Labs PBC seeks a Business Development Manager to advance Planet's solutions for US Navy operational challenges. You will lead the full BD lifecycle, identify critical needs, shape requirements and budgets, and coordinate RFI/Proposal activities with sales teams.

The role requires deep Navy knowledge, strong communication with senior civilian/military leadership, and a track record in DoW budget cycles, with a hybrid work model from the DC area.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Experience working directly within the US DoW - Navy, Combatant Commands, and/or the IC with maritime focus.
• Knowledge of DoW PEOs and budgetary entities; OSW and service requirements.

Responsibilities

• Identify and qualify new business opportunities and pursue long-term strategic captures.
• Support acquisition activities (RFIs, White Papers, unsolicited proposals, RFPs).
• Advocate Planet capabilities to Navy mission users and shape program requirements and budgets.
• Develop strategy and engagement plans to align Planet solutions with US Navy priorities.
• Coordinate RFIs/RFPs responses with Sales and Proposal teams.
• Maintain relationships with Government Affairs and multi-country defense collaborators.
