Job summary

Lodestar Consulting, Inc. is seeking multiple full-time Accounting and Financial Reporting Consultants to join our team in support of our Navy client.

The role focuses on detailed research and analysis of Sub-Ledger and GL activity to ensure audit readiness and financial compliance. The position requires coordinating with auditors and financial stakeholders, with 5+ years of experience in accounting and a DoD/DoD-related background preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and audit processes.
• Ability to analyze complex financial data and identify root causes.
• On-site 2-3 days per week in Alexandria, VA.

Responsibilities

• Support DON audit response and remediation in accordance with GAAP/SFFAS/OMB.
• Manage day-to-day research, analysis, and communication at direction of project leads.
• Utilize data analysis technology to analyze information.
• Provide financial reporting and remediation solutions.
• Review and update CAPs for open and reissued NFRs with milestones and due dates.
• Draft/update communication artifacts (SOPs, guides, whitepapers).
• Demonstrate strong customer service in high-pressure, time-constrained situations.
• Direct and review work of Senior Associates and report progress to Team Lead.
