Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries' Mission Technologies division in Chesapeake, VA seeks an Elevator Support Unit technician to perform skilled trades on weapon and aircraft elevators and related systems aboard U.S. Navy ships.

In this entry-level role, you will work under supervision with daily physical labor in an industrial shipboard environment, following blueprints and safety protocols while contributing to critical defense infrastructure.

Qualifications

• High School education and 1 year of related experience, or Trade School or equivalent.
• Must have knowledge and/or experience using basic hand tools.
• Must have ability to obtain DoD security clearance and base access within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine skilled trades duties in support of repairs and installations.
• Work from blueprints and manuals; follow standard work assignments.
• Apply policies to complete tasks across contracts and customer requirements.
• Perform semi-skilled and unskilled labor for installation, maintenance and repair.
• Occasionally take on duties outside normal scope to complete assignments.
