Qualifications

• Managing the contracts and project functions by administering the repair, overhaul and maintenance of navy vessels
• Improving modernization efforts
• Experience coordinating depot level work for repair and modernization of naval vessels
• Experience with advance planning, contract award and execution for ship checks, material ordering, reviewing and executing work specifications

Responsibilities

• Coordinate scheduling, planning, design and material for overhauls, conversions, modifications, repairs and activation/deactivation of vessels.
• Oversee contracts for repair and modernization of naval vessels from planning through production.
• Oversee preparation of specification packages in accordance with milestone dates.
• Review and accept authorized work requests from sponsors and ensure work is authorized.
• Provide cost estimates to customer requests and authorize material orders.
• Provide data and technical advice to contracting officers to support contract negotiations.
• Verify availability of material, obtain funds, assign processing priority and authorize funding expenditures.
• Resolve problems affecting schedule, quality and end cost by directing corrective action.
• Plan emergent repair availabilities.
• Manage ship repair job orders and contracts by observing contractor progress and monitoring all work to minimize delays.
