Job summary

U.S. Pacific Fleet is seeking a Professional Mechanical Engineer to define objectives and constraints, set priorities, and provide guidance on ship engineering projects.

You will determine organizational guidelines and oversee the design, installation, and operation of mechanical systems on naval vessels. This role requires DoD program experience, eligibility for security clearance, and the ability to work within DoD processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, ABET-accredited.
  • Professional engineering license (PE) or EI/EIT registration preferred.
  • FE exam or equivalent licensure required for engineering practice.

Responsibilities

  • Define objectives and constraints; set priorities; determine organizational guidelines.
  • Assure all employees receive equal consideration in qualifications, selections, training, details, promotions, reassignments, discipline, and awards.
  • Provide input to the planning of long-range programs.
  • Initiate actions to ensure branch skills, personnel mix, and facilities will develop to support long-range programs, with flexibility for changes.
