Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
• The ability to obtain and gain access to shipyards (NAVSTA & DBIDS).
• The ability to obtain an OSHA certification.
• The ability to wear proper PPE and respirator.
• The ability to obtain Forklift certification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience using power tools and assembling mechanical assemblies.
• Minimum 5 years of Shipboard Experience.
• Ability to read drawings and follow assembly instructions with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Follow blueprints, guidelines, and diagrams to fabricate and assemble various electromechanical and electronic assemblies.
• Maintain equipment by performing preventive maintenance and reporting malfunctions.
• Work with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
• Plan and accomplish goals with limited experience and judgment.
• Work on U.S. Naval Ships and military installations, with conditions like drafts and temperature variation.
• Handle tools and equipment safely to avoid injuries.
