Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking an Advanced Mechanical Assembler to support U.S. Navy programs on board U.S.

Naval Ships and at shipyards. The role requires blueprint-based fabrication, assembly of large and intricate electromechanical assemblies, and adherence to safety protocols in challenging environments. Candidates should have a high school diploma, 5+ years with power tools and assemblies, and the ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance, OSHA/respirator qualification, and forklift certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience using power tools and assembling mechanical assemblies (large and intricate).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance, and pass background/drug screening.
• Ability to obtain OSHA certification and respirator qualification.
• Ability to obtain forklift certification and wear PPE.
• Experience with blueprints, layouts, drilling, cutting metal, torque wrenches, and assembly work.
• Ability to work on U.S. Naval Ships and shipyards, and travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Follow blueprints, diagrams to fabricate and assemble electromechanical and electronic assemblies.
• Perform preventive maintenance per manufacturer instructions and report malfunctions.
• Work from established procedures and supervision to plan and accomplish goals.
• Operate and move in environments with noise, heat, and confined spaces onboard ships.
