Mission Technologies in Bremerton, WA seeks an Elevator Support Welder to perform skilled trades on aircraft and weapon elevators and related systems aboard U.S. Navy ships. The role involves daily physical labor in an industrial, shipboard setting, with travel within the U.S.

and abroad as needed. This full-time position requires readiness to work in challenging conditions and to demonstrate welding and brazing proficiency.

Qualifications

• High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 4 years of related experience.
• Experience with SMAW (Stick) welding Carbon Steel/HY100/HY80 and GTAW (TIG) welding Carbon Steel/Stainless Steel/Copper Nickel.
• Experience Brazing with Grade III Silver Solder.
• Experience performing fit‑up of Piping and Structural Components.
• Ability to obtain and maintain base access, Security Clearance, and must be a US Citizen.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow detailed oral and written instructions, schematics or drawings, technical documents, and to conduct activities in a safe manner.
• Must be able to calibrate, and make minor repairs on tools/equipment.
• Experience Using Hand Tools i.e. Wrenches, Hammers, grinders Cutting Torches, ETC.
• Experience using Shop Machinery i.e. Saws, Drills, Pedestal Grinders, ETC.
• Must be able to pass a Respirator Physical and a J-1 Eye Test.
• Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.

Responsabilités

• Assist ESU by utilizing various welding techniques on aircraft carrier elevators, cargo‑handling systems, and related equipment such as aircraft elevators, weapons elevators, and vertical stores conveyors.
• Engage in physical labor within an industrial and shipboard setting on a daily basis.
• Responsible for creating and utilizing technical work documents, including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, ship check reports, and final task completion reports.
• Uses Brazing and / or flame‑cutting equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products.
• Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
