Zusammenfassung

National Steel and Shipbuilding Com is seeking a skilled estimator/ planner to support naval ship repair projects. You will prepare labor, subcontractor, and material cost estimates, develop work specifications, and coordinate with production on schedules and site inspections.

The role requires familiarity with Navy ship repair environments, the ability to read drawings, and experience with NMD and Microsoft Office. Travel to offsite locations may be required and local hiring is emphasized.

Qualifikationen

• Navy ship repair experience required.
• Knowledge of shipboard nomenclature.
• Experience with shipboard systems, spaces, and costs for repairs/maintenance.
• Ability to read drawings and specifications.
• Working knowledge of Navy Maintenance Database (NMD).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products.

Aufgaben

• Create NMD availabilities, work specifications, and estimates.
• Develop and issue planning documents and work items.
• Develop a comprehensive cost estimate for the job.
• Participate in job site inspections and ship checks.
• Identify cost elements required for execution (labor, subcontracts, rentals, material).
• Prepare requisitions for subcontracts, rentals and materials.
• Interface with Subcontracts to resolve issues.
• Prepare work breakdown structures for proposals and negotiations.
• Establish execution approach with project/production management.
• Collaborate with Production/Schedulers for integrated schedules.
• Adhere to NASSCO Standards and Business Conduct.
