Job summary

NASSCO Bremerton is seeking a skilled Estimator/Planner to develop detailed labor and material estimates for shipboard repairs and upgrades in a Navy ship repair environment. You will write specifications, create cost models, and collaborate with production management and subcontractors to deliver accurate bids.

The role requires familiarity with shipboard systems, ability to read drawings and blueprints, and experience using the Navy Maintenance Database.

Qualifications

• Familiar with Navy ship repair environment.
• Knowledge of shipboard nomenclature and systems.
• Ability to read drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Experience estimating labor, subcontractor and material costs to support bids.

Responsibilities

• Create NMD availabilities, work specifications and estimates.
• Develop and distribute planning documents and work items per instructions.
• Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for jobs.
• Participate in site inspections and ship checks.
• Identify cost elements for execution including trades, subcontracts, rentals and materials.
• Prepare requisitions for subcontracts, rentals and materials.
• Interface with Subcontracts to resolve issues.
• Prepare work breakdown structures for proposals and negotiations.
• Collaborate with project/production management to execute plans.
• Ensure information supports an integrated schedule.
