Job summary

QED Systems Inc in Marysville, WA seeks a Planner/Estimator to support U.S. Navy ship repair work. You will plan, conduct ship checks, write repair items and specifications, and estimate labor, material, and subcontractor costs in NAVSEA compliant formats.

Candidates should understand Navy ship construction, shipboard systems, and be able to develop production planning documents, using NAVSEA instructions and NAVSEA standard items. A post-hire period as shipcheckers precedes acting as estimators.

Qualifications

• The candidate should have knowledge of U.S. Navy ship construction and shipboard systems.
• Experience developing production planning documents and estimates for Navy depot work is preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, conduct ship checks, and write repair items/specifications.
• Estimate labor, material, and subcontractor work at the paragraph and line-item level.
• Develop work items in accordance with NAVSEA requirements and instructions.
