Delphinus Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support design and analysis of shipboard and waterfront mechanical systems for U.S. Navy projects.

You will develop 3D models using Autodesk Inventor and create detailed drawings, coordinating with a multi-disciplinary team and field personnel to ensure design intent is carried through to execution. The role requires DoD Secret clearance eligibility, strong communication skills, and travel up to 20% to support shipyards and

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• BSME or related engineering discipline from an accredited university.
• Proficient with AutoCAD or 3D modeling software (Inventor/SolidWorks).
• Strong ability to work independently and in a team to meet deadlines.
• Experience performing key responsibilities listed above.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Must qualify for or hold a DoD Secret security clearance.
• Travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Perform shipchecks and waterfront field verification; prepare system specifications and develop design drawings for HM&E installations.
• Read, interpret, and troubleshoot HM&E systems using SIDs, including structural/electrical drawings.
• Perform calculations (fluid flow, stress, shock/vibration, weight/CG).
• Revise and prepare HM&E logistics docs (Technical Manuals, MRCs).
• Select materials and specify components; develop BOMs.
• Apply Navy/industry standards (NAVSEA, MIL-STDs, ASME).
• Prepare red-line markups and incorporate changes into drawings and docs.
• Develop installation, inspection, and test procedures; support installation and commissioning.
• Provide SME support to equipment teams for troubleshooting and repair; on-site support at shipyards/waterfront facilities.
• Complete tasks efficiently and deliver high-quality technical products meeting schedules.
