Job summary

Delphinus Engineering LLC is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to support naval platforms with design, modification, and installation of electrical systems aboard ships and in defense programs. You will develop and maintain SIDs and one-line diagrams, translating engineering inputs into fabrication-ready design packages.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in electrical design/drafting, strong CAD skills (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical), and the ability to read complex drawings. U.S.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design/drafting, preferably naval or marine environments.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical references.
• Working knowledge of electrical systems, components, and installation practices.
• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance.
• Willingness to travel 20–40% and qualify for/hold Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct shipchecks and field verification to support HM&E alterations and overhauls aboard U.S. Navy ships.
• Create and revise electrical Ship Installation Drawings (SIDs) per NAVSEA standards.
• Develop electrical design products from engineering input and existing drawings.
• Perform cable routing, schedules, and interference checks for installation design.
• Support electrical load analysis, equipment layout, and BOMs.
• Check drawings for ISO 9001 QMS compliance and NAVSEA/military standards.
• Coordinate with engineers, production, and customers to resolve design issues.
• Maintain drawing configuration control and revision history.
