Job summary

Life Cycle Engineering seeks a Controls Systems Engineer in Philadelphia, PA to design, integrate, and sustain advanced electrical control systems across defense and industrial platforms. You will develop PLCs/HMI solutions, create detailed electrical schematics in AutoCAD, and lead power distribution systems optimization.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage project schedules, and ensure electrical safety and reliability while supporting shipboard integration and testing.

Qualifications

• B.S. in an Engineering discipline required.
• Minimum 2 years of electrical or systems engineering experience including hands-on controls development and power systems.
• Proficiency in Ladder Logic-based PLCs (Allen Bradley, Modicon, Siemens, etc.).
• Experience with power systems engineering and data analysis.
• Familiarity with electrical testing tools and real-time performance scripting.
• Strong documentation and project management skills.
• 2+ years of Aegis experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement control systems with stepper and continuous motion for defense applications.
• Develop, program, and optimize PLCs and HMIs for legacy and new systems.
• Create and maintain electrical schematics using AutoCAD.
• Troubleshoot and perform root-cause analysis on power systems.
• Support shipboard power system integration and calibration.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to map system requirements and tests.
• Manage project schedules and deliverables using Microsoft Project and Office.
