Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Natural Resources Consultant to support the Texas and Louisiana region within the Earth & Environment Team. You will work with scientists, planners, engineers and environmental professionals to advance natural resources projects, ecological assessments, and regulatory permitting across energy, infrastructure and land development sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in environmental science, natural resources, biology, ecology, environmental planning, wildlife biology, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in natural resources, ecological consulting, environmental permitting, or related projects.
• Experience conducting environmental field surveys and natural resource assessments.
• Familiarity with wetland regulations, threatened and endangered species considerations, habitat assessments, and permitting requirements.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including compliance and permitting frameworks.
• Experience preparing technical reports, environmental assessments, and permit applications.

Responsibilities

• Support project managers in executing natural resources and permitting projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables on schedule and within budget.
• Conduct field investigations, biological assessments, habitat evaluations, wetland delineations, vegetation surveys, and other natural resource studies.
• Evaluate potential environmental impacts to wetlands, wildlife habitat, and endangered species.
• Prepare technical reports, environmental analyses, and permit applications; coordinate with agencies.
• Assist with federal, state, and local permitting efforts, including agency consultation and regulatory review.
• Support field data collection, analysis, and interpretation for project planning.
