Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Natural Resources Consultant to support a broad portfolio of environmental permitting and ecological assessment projects across the Texas and Louisiana region. You will collaborate with scientists, planners, and engineers to navigate regulatory requirements and promote responsible resource management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in natural resources or ecological projects.
• Experience with environmental field surveys and permitting.
• Knowledge of wetlands, threatened species, and permitting frameworks.
• Familiarity with energy, infrastructure, or similar development projects.
• Proficient with GIS, data collection methods, and field documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and multi-project management.

Responsibilities

• Support project managers in natural resources and environmental permitting projects.
• Conduct field investigations, biological assessments, and habitat evaluations.
• Evaluate environmental impacts to wetlands, wildlife habitat, and endangered species.
• Prepare technical reports, permit applications, and agency coordination materials.
• Assist with federal, state, and local permitting processes.
• Support field data collection, analysis, and interpretation for planning decisions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and clients to advance projects.
• Monitor regulations and reporting requirements for energy and infrastructure projects.
• Maintain field records, GIS data, and project documentation.
