Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Natural Resources Consultant to support the Texas & Louisiana region within our Earth & Environment Team. The role involves environmental permitting, ecological assessments, and coordination with regulatory agencies on energy, infrastructure, and land development projects.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience in natural resources, field surveys, and regulatory compliance, with proficiency in GIS and MS Office. Travel to Gulf South sites will be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management, Biology, Ecology, Environmental Planning, Wildlife Biology, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience supporting natural resources, ecological consulting, environmental permitting, or related projects.
• Experience conducting environmental field surveys and resource assessments.
• Familiarity with wetlands regulations, threatened/endangered species, and permitting requirements.
• Knowledge of federal/state/local environmental regulations and permitting frameworks.
• Proficiency with MS Office and environmental data management tools.

Responsibilities

• Support project managers in natural resources and environmental permitting projects.
• Conduct field investigations, biological assessments, habitat evaluations, and surveys.
• Evaluate potential environmental impacts to wetlands, streams, and wildlife habitat.
• Prepare technical reports, analyses, permit applications, and agency materials.
• Assist with federal, state, and local environmental permitting efforts.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify constraints and mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate with regulators, stakeholders, landowners, and clients.
• Monitor regulations and permitting requirements for energy, infrastructure projects.
• Maintain field records, GIS data, and project documentation.
• Participate in fieldwork, site visits, and client engagements across the Gulf South.
• Promote health, safety, and environmental stewardship.
