Job summary

WSP is seeking a Natural Resources Consultant to support the Texas & Louisiana region as part of our Earth & Environment Team, working with scientists, planners, and engineers to navigate environmental challenges and regulatory compliance.

The role includes field investigations, ecological assessments, habitat evaluations, and coordination with regulatory agencies, contributing to energy, infrastructure, and land development projects across the Gulf South.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management, Biology, Ecology, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in natural resources, ecological consulting, or environmental permitting.
• Experience with environmental field surveys and resource assessments.
• Knowledge of wetlands regulations and endangered species permitting.
• Experience preparing technical reports and permit applications.
• Familiar with energy, infrastructure, or transportation project environments.
• Working knowledge of GIS, data collection methods, and field documentation.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; able to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support project managers in natural resources and environmental permitting projects.
• Conduct field investigations, biological assessments, and habitat evaluations.
• Evaluate environmental impacts to wetlands, habitats, and species.
• Prepare technical reports, permit applications, and agency coordination materials.
• Assist with permit efforts including agency consultation and compliance processes.
• Support field data collection, analysis, and interpretation for planning.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify constraints and mitigation.
• Coordinate with agencies, stakeholders, landowners, and clients for compliance.
• Monitor regulations and permitting requirements for Gulf South projects.
• Maintain field records, GIS data, and project documentation.
