Job summary

Castleton Commodities International in Houston seeks a Natural Gas Scheduler to manage daily and intraday pipeline nominations, confirmations, balancing, and operational coordination across regional systems.

The role requires sharp attention to detail, a commercial mindset, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced trading environment. You will work with traders, originators, operations, risk, accounting, and counterparties to ensure timely scheduling of physical gas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, energy management, engineering, supply chain, or related field.
• 0–2 years in natural gas scheduling or related physical energy role.
• Strong understanding of nomination cycles, confirmations, balancing, transportation contracts, storage, pooling, and pipeline capacity.
• Familiarity with EBBs, pipeline tariffs, operational notices, and regional pipeline constraints.
• Experience with ETRM systems and gas scheduling platforms preferred.
• Strong Excel skills; exposure to SQL, Python, or VBA is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines.
• Strong communication and teamwork across traders and operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily, intraday nominations across the pipeline network.
• Coordinate confirmations, imbalances, and operational changes with pipelines and counterparties.
• Monitor notices, OFOs, constraints that may affect flow or pricing.
• Support physical gas optimization with traders and operations.
• Track volumes against trade captures to resolve discrepancies.
• Assist monthly close: volume actualization, imbalance review, invoicing support.
• Maintain records of nominations, confirmations, and activity.
• Develop knowledge of pipeline systems and tariff rules.
• Communicate operational updates to traders and stakeholders.
• Support process improvements for scheduling and controls.
• Ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in rotating weekend/holiday coverage.
