Job summary

R-2 Contractors is seeking an experienced Utility-Scale Horizontal Directional Drilling Foreman to lead field crews on nationwide HDD projects across the United States. This role focuses on planning, coordinating, and safely executing drilling operations while mentoring crew members and delivering quality workmanship.

Travel is 100% to active sites; candidate must have 5+ years HDD and 2+ years foreman experience, strong leadership, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Horizontal Directional Drilling, underground utility, or heavy civil construction experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Horizontal Directional Drilling Foreman leading field crews.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily HDD operations for utility-scale projects.
• Plan daily work assignments and coordinate crews, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and production activities.
• Read and interpret project drawings, bore profiles, and construction documents.
• Coordinate bore setup, pilot bores, reaming operations, and conduit installation.
• Ensure safety, quality, and alignment with project specs and standards.
• Train, mentor, and develop crew members to build future leaders.
