Overview
Scope of Responsibilities:
Works under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Follows standard procedures to accomplish assigned tasks. May assist in orienting and training employees. Assists the professional staff in the triaging, processing, and delivery of prescriptions to patients. Assists in managing pharmacy inventory and third-party receivables.
Responsibilities
- Perform duties of Pharmacy Clerk as needed, including running the cash register and answering telephones.
- Learn and understand pharmacy management systems, including reception and patient queue management, as well as POS system operations; follow instructions and complete tasks with urgency; responsible for meeting daily department standards.
- Maintain quality standards by understanding and following the Quality Assurance Policy & Procedures, patient care programs, policies, and procedures; ensure accuracy in cash handling and controls.
- Possess intermediate to advanced understanding of pharmacy technology, including product dispensing, data entry, and adjudication workflows.
- Ensure every prescription is checked by a pharmacist prior to dispensing to the patient.
- Assist in the initial submission and resubmission of third-party claims as required.
- Manage inventory proficiently, including ordering, receiving, checking for outdates, and processing returns; maintain inventory freshness.
- Locate prescription files and manual records from storage as needed; prepare and file manual records for pharmacist review and signatures.
- Act with integrity and ethical behavior, complying with all HIPAA standards and company policies.
- Ensure regulatory and operational compliance with all state and federal laws and company policies.
- Perform all store clerk duties as needed.
- Complete all mandatory and regulatory training programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Manage professional services, including the MTM program and other patient-centered services proficiently.
Qualifications
Education
- Preferred: Associate Degree or higher
Qualifications
- Preferred hospital or retail pharmacy experience
- PTCB or other nationally recognized certification
Required for Vermont employees: Registered with the State of Vermont as a Pharmacy Technician.

Compensation
$15.50 - $19.75 per hour
The final offer will be based on relevant skills, experience, and education.
