Job summary

United Therapeutics Corporation is seeking a Lung Bioengineering (LBE) National Transplant Accounts Director to cultivate payer access, negotiate contracts, and deliver reimbursement strategies across transplant networks.

The role requires a strong track record in executive communication, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning, with extensive experience in organ operations and managed care. This is a home-based nationwide position with significant travel and senior leadership interaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
• 10+ years of organ operations or healthcare services with payer access focus, with a degree; or 8+ years with degree plus Master's.
• 5+ years of transplant administration experience including managed care, marketing, and business case development.
• Executive level business presentation experience.
• Demonstrated ability to cultivate relationships with payer stakeholders.
• Expertise in transplant reimbursement dynamics, including Medicare cost reporting and payer contracting.
• Data gathering and interpretation for executive leadership.
• Proven ability to navigate payer contracting processes.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with transplant administration, payer stakeholders, and transplant networks; implement plans aligned with brand strategy and payer objectives.
• Network, identify contacts and opportunities; develop and pitch business opportunities with transplant leadership.
• Negotiate transplant center and Organ Procurement Organization contracts within guidance and coordinate with health systems and legal.
• Provide reimbursement and coverage education to transplant centers, administrators, and providers.
• Maintain accurate customer data in CRM and SAP; serve as invoicing contact for finance.
• Conduct regular meetings with transplant hospital stakeholders to discuss business cases and performance.
• Develop and execute strategic plans; present to payers and improve device access and coverage.
• Collaborate with Liaisons and other teams to implement payer initiatives and ensure coordinated execution.
• Travel and participate in local, regional, and national meetings to advance lung transplantation and access.
• Prepare leadership presentations on market dynamics, utilization, and financial metrics.
• Support planning, data interpretation, and insights for relationship management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
