Job summary

The Acting Company seeks a touring Stage Manager (SM) and Assistant Stage Manager (ASM) for the 2026-2027 National Tour of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Roles are leadership positions, ensuring safe, open, and productive workspaces and reporting to the Associate Producer.

Rehearsals occur in NYC (January 2027); tech in NYC (February 2027); then a nationwide tour February–April 2027, with occasional school performances.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of stage management or equivalent experience.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs, push/pull 100 lbs, stand for extended periods, navigate stairs.
• Soft skills: highly organized; strong written and verbal communication; interpersonal.
• Experience touring or traveling is a plus.
• Experience with unions is a plus; familiarity with AEA LORT is a plus.
• Experience in schools or educational settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• All traditional Stage Management responsibilities, as noted in the AEA Agreement.
• Facilitate and participate in rehearsals on the road, coordinating with Company Management, Staff Director, Crew, and Home Office.
