Job summary

Blue Man Group is seeking an experienced Assistant Stage Manager for the North American tour. The ASM will support the Production Stage Manager, call performances, manage backstage operations, props, and load-ins/outs across a demanding touring schedule.

Responsibilities include leading when the PSM is away, coordinating with departments, and ensuring safety and show integrity. A minimum of 3 years in live entertainment is required; travel for Nov 2026 to Dec 2026 is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Stage Management, Performing Arts, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional Stage Management experience in live entertainment or touring productions.
• Proven ability to call live performances and manage cue-heavy shows.
• Experience with props, consumables, and backstage operations.
• Proficiency in scheduling, documentation, and Microsoft Office.
• Must be able to travel domestically for extended periods (Nov 2026–Dec 2026) and maintain eligibility for U.S. employment and travel.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first book cover, calling performances as assigned based on schedule and company needs.
• When calling, chair daily Circle Meetings, conduct soundcheck, review notes from the previous performance, and coordinate with performers and the technical departments to ensure all outstanding notes from the prior show have been addressed.
• When the Production Stage Manager is not present, act as the leader in the space, maintaining communication, morale, and show integrity across departments.
• When calling, attend post-show notes sessions, facilitate communication, and complete show reports for review by the Production Stage Manager.
• Manage the deck during performances and maintain prop presets, running tracks, and daily or weekly prop maintenance.
• Conduct front-of-house briefings and communicate relevant show information to venue staff as needed.
