Job summary

Proviso West High School seeks an Activity Sponsor for the National Technical Honors Society. The sponsor will organize, supervise, and promote the student club in alignment with district policies and student development goals.

As a mentor and liaison, you will ensure safe, inclusive extracurricular experiences, coordinate events, and enforce eligibility while maintaining strong communication with students and staff.

• Willingness to take responsibility for all duties associated with the position.

Responsibilities

• Provide active supervision for club activities, meetings, and events with safety compliance.
• Ensure off-campus activities are approved and transportation/logistics are arranged as required.
• As a mandated reporter, comply with training and reporting obligations.
• Define expectations and provide feedback to support student development.
• Guide students in planning inclusive, developmentally appropriate activities aligned with the club's mission.
• Coordinate logistics and facility usage with school staff to ensure well-organized events.
• Use feedback data to improve program quality and impact.
• Attend sponsor meetings, activity fairs, and Open House events.
• Maintain professional communication with students, staff, and parents.
• Explain attendance, behavior, eligibility, and participation expectations and enforce them.
• Publicize meetings and events using district-approved channels.
• Collaborate with co-sponsors and departments to support district goals.
• Manage the club's budget and complete required reports and year-end summaries.
• Comply with federal/state laws including FERPA, Title IX, and district policies.
