Job summary

Proviso Township High Schools District 209 is seeking an Activity Sponsor at Proviso West High School. This stipend role focuses on organizing, supervising, and promoting a student organization in alignment with district policies and student development goals.

The sponsor mentors students, coordinates meetings and events, ensures safety, handles permits, and reports to the Director of Athletics and Activities and the Building Principal.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities.
• Ability to work with students in a school setting.
• Willingness to take responsibility for all duties.
• Preference given to PTU members when qualifications are substantially equal.

Responsibilities

• Supervise club activities, meetings, events, and practices with safety and district policies.
• Ensure all off-campus activities are approved and transportation arranged.
• Comply with training and reporting obligations under 325 ILCS 5/4 and Board policy.
• Prepare students for participation, define expectations, and offer constructive feedback.
• Guide students in planning inclusive, developmentally appropriate activities aligned with the club's mission.
• Coordinate logistics and facility usage with school personnel for well-organized events.
• Use feedback to inform program decisions and improve impact.
• Publicize meetings and activities using district-approved channels.
• Collaborate with co-sponsors, staff, and administration to support club goals.
• Attend sponsor meetings, activity fairs, and Open House events.
• Represent the school and district with professionalism and integrity.
• Manage the club budget and district procurement processes.
• Submit all required documentation and reports on deadlines.
• Complete a year-end summary of activity goals/outcomes.
• Participate in annual post-activity evaluation by leadership.
• Comply with FERPA, Title IX, and anti-discrimination policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by administration.
