Job summary

Proviso Township High Schools is seeking an Activity Sponsor at Proviso East High School to organize and oversee a National Technical Honor Society. The sponsor mentors students, coordinates meetings and events, and ensures safety and compliance with district policies.

The role is a non-tenure, extra-duty stipend position reporting to the Director of Athletics and Activities and the Building Principal or Designee. It requires leadership and collaboration with staff and students.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students in a school setting.
• Willingness to take responsibility for all duties associated with the position.
• Valid Illinois PEL or Substitute Teaching License or related certification (desired).
• Experience sponsoring or supervising school activities (desired).

Responsibilities

• Provide active supervision for club activities, meetings, events, and practices.
• Ensure off-campus activities are approved and permission slips/transport arranged.
• Comply with mandated reporting obligations under Illinois law.
• Prepare students for participation and provide constructive feedback.
• Coordinate logistics and facility usage with school personnel.
• Promote student involvement and leadership opportunities.
• Maintain communication with students, staff, and families regarding activities.
