Job summary

W.E. O’Neil Construction seeks a National Director of Safety to lead health, safety, and risk prevention across regions and operating companies. This executive role develops strategies, standardizes policies, and partners with leadership to embed safety into every facet of the business.

The leader will drive training, field engagement, data analysis, and performance management to ensure a proactive safety culture and compliance across all sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive construction safety leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• Ability to travel nationally on a frequent basis.
• Demonstrated ability to influence executive leadership, operations teams, and field personnel.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a unified national safety strategy.
• Foster a culture where safety is a core value.
• Partner with regional presidents, operations leadership, and project teams to strengthen accountability nationwide.
• Represent W.E. O’Neil during client pursuits and industry engagements as the safety leader.
• Establish and maintain standardized safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing incidents and exposure.
